It’s been two years since I last brought up that Plastic should delete files to the recycle bin instead of into oblivion (or at least provide a preference to do so, which we could preferably configure all our users to have on by default rather than just hope they do before the first time they lose work).
This was the last discussion:
I can’t remember whether I’ve added that to the feedback website, since it provides you with no ways to view your previous suggestions without creating a new suggestion (one of the many UI issues I’ve brought up with it).
But we had a user just today run into this same thing. They deleted a private file using Workspace Explorer, expecting it to behave as most every other program on their system by moving it to the recycle bin. But then they were horrified to discover that Plastic doesn’t play by those rules.
Luckily, Rider came to our rescue and we were able to rescue it from its history. If not, it would have just been time spent to recreate the file.
