I seem to have an issue where I set a player preference during the game with PlayerPrefs.SetString("example", "true); PlayerPrefs.Save()
And then I reload a scene and have an if statement as follows:
if(PlayerPrefs.GetString("example") == "true"){
//Console.WriteLine("Running");
}
However, the if statement never runs.
if(PlayerPrefs.GetString(“example”) !=“”){
//Console.WriteLine(“Running”);
}
Or
string example=PlayerPrefs.GetString("example","DefaultVar")
if(example!="DefaultVar"){
//Console.WriteLine("Running");
}
PlayerPrefs.GetString() returns Strings
“true” is a String (text)
true is a boolean (true or false)
PlayerPrefs.GetString() returns default value “”
