Please can we have a 3D forum.

Back in the early 2000’s there was such a thing as a VRML 3D chatroom.

Why are we still using a 2D forum when it’s 2014? Shouldn’t we all be communicating in some kind of virtual world cyberspace as in Ghost in the Shell?

We should be flying over virtual hills and projecting our latest 3d models into the sky.

Shouldn’t we?

Perhaps Unity can build one with their latest WebGL interface. Then we could all enter it with our oculus rifts and discuss the various merits of the new lighting system in Unity 5.

No. Just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should.

Having a virtual forum space with Oculus Rifts is a cool idea, and maybe there will be a good one of those at some point. This forum is not the place to innovate such a thing.

It would be just pointlessly impractical.

Wearing a rift for hours at a time sounds terrible…

There’s this lol:

Because once the novelty has worn off it is quickly obvious how much productivity you lose. Our interface tools, the mouse being the primary culprit, are not designed for the task. We would need more advanced tools to make good use of it.

Yes! Like that! With giant fish we can ride!

It’s called Second Life, and it’s owned by Linden Labs, who now owns Desura, which is where your game you are making is probably going to end up. [ Desura.com.](http:// Desura.com.) While, there, in your 3D world, please buy several copies of my games.

Off topic, but I don’t think I would use Desura since it has no DRM, and I could just sell it on my own website via PayPal and keep all the money rather than 70/30 split for just listing my game and not even protecting it with DRM.

i ONLY make DRM free games. That doesn’t mean you have to. In fact, every game I have ever made, is available on every torrent site you can think of. Idon’t really care.

BUT

You can certainly sell games on Desura that include DRM. I’m not sure where you got the idea that Desura is only for DRM free games, it’s not, there are many that have DRM. Mine not included. Go ahead, try my games out, i’m sure you can find them on a torrent site, but what I can’t be sure of, is if you will get a virus attached… that is not my problem though.

If you want one, go ahead and make one.

You missed his point. Namely that if it isn’t going to do any of the work for him, he might as well not use it at all. I fully agree with his statement. Better to sell it yourself than to use a third party that does very little and still takes a portion of your income.

Electric car was first invented in 1884 by Thomas Parker.
But no, people don’t use them until this very late 2000s.

That’s more than 100 years different.

Same goes, 3D chat room for discussion doesn’t seem practical for references.

IMHO.
