Please, How Can I Put Ads In My PC Project.

Hi,
Please, I’m working on my first project for PC and I want to make it free with ads in it. I know how to go about this for mobile but I can’t seem to find a solution on how to do it for PC. Any ideas ?

Name 1 PC game that has an ad in it.

(A coca cola prop, etc doesn’t count)

Agreed.

PC Games should never have ads in them.

Ever.

Frankly…IMHO no game should have them. i delete games with ads.

$1 for an app is cheap.
the ads cost me more then $1 in network access. so i rather pay the $1 for your game.

Yeah… I guess you are right. I haven’t played any PC game recently so I didn’t know whether any had ads. I guess I’ll have to make my app paid or something.
Thanks.

I don’t know what type of game you are planing, but maybe a bonus / item shop system can be used to create income if you make the game for free?

From my IOS game data i can assure you that only about 1in 100 downloads pay the meagerly one dollar
To remove the adverts, the rest play my games for free even though i have adverts in them. I suspect even if i charged
1 cent for the game, 99 people still wouldn’t do it. So the question is why should we developers act like charities?
I work blinking hard to create games and why shouldn’t i be paid for that effort. If adverts achieve this then why shouldn’t i?
If you don’t like the ads pay the flipping dollar!

iOS shows there is a demand for free games, and that there are people willing to accommodate ads to get that. With so many new ad networks on mobile, I’m surprised some are not going for PC / Mac where there is not the competition against other networks.

Counter Strike… probably TF2 since it’s free now… (haven’t played it in ages…) and pretty much every single sports game ever created.

Tf2 doesn’t need ads; its micro-transaction system is so inflated they can Scrooge McDuck their way around their company buildings. /lol

Those are unobtrusive ads. I’ll agree those happen, but the kind of ads that happen on mobile - you know, they pop up, block most of the HUD, you accidentally click on one and download four viruses and get a seizure and read reviews by people who learned English as their fifth language - those are the ones we want to stay far away from anything of any quality.

And why would you do the same as any other developer? If you think a free-to-play ad-based PC game can get you money, Go for it man!. I want to try the same for an extra income. If my game is free, who would dare to complain? I want a solution for both android and pc stand alone but I cannot find it yet =)
