I am trying to make a drag racing game and I'm trying to find some basic code to get the car moving forward, hit the brakes, maybe a parachute. Can any one help link me to a Unity page. And any advice is very welcome! Thank you so much you will be helping in so many ways!

Have you checked out the Unity Car Tutorial yet?

It was just added by the Unity team to address this issue by giving a complete walk-through of the basics of making a racing game.
