Please select a valid package.json file in a package folder.

Hello everyone, i am trying to add into my package folder manifest.json from this github. GitHub - Unity-Technologies/NavMeshComponents: High Level API Components for Runtime NavMesh Building

But i cant get it working because of this error “Please select a valid package.json file in a package folder.”
What can be wrong? Is the json file for older version? I tried even that and it did not help.
Thank you.

Are you trying to install the repository into your project via Package Manager? In that case you can’t, the manifest.json is not a package, and the repository overall provides no installable Package Manager package. It’s a Unity project.

As such, you can download and open it in Unity, then export a folder or files using the “export unitypackage” right click context menu. This creates a .unitypackage file you can import into your existing project.

Yes, thats waht i am trying to do. I exported only the packages folder with jason in it. Now it created this .unitypackage file but unity doesnt show it when i try to import it through packet manager.

No! That’s not how it works.

See the description on the repository’s readme:

You want to export that folder as unitypackage. Or just copy it, as the readme states.

Okay, so I can just copy “Editor” and “Scripts” from Assets/NavMeshComponents to my project to make it work?
