I was seeing crashes on most Flash content with Safari 5, and so for comparison I tried Shockwave and Unity. Shockwave went fine, and so did Unity, but when I closed that window Safari crashed with some sort of Unity player problem.
There may be a general problem with plugins in Safari 5, but it could also be separate issues in both Flash and Unity.
flash might just as well crash cause apple wants to put out some strong spreading fire for HTML5 and their CSS3 extensions and against Flash on any webkit based platform
I installed a later version of Flash Player to solve the problem with that. Unity plugin may still have some issues to watch out for.
I tried everything offered on the net as a solution. From trying the flash beta to repairing permissions with DiskUtility. Flash content gives me the lollipop of death 3/5 times I open it.
It’s not isolated to Safari either as it occurs in Firefox are well. I’ve installed ClickToFlash and have actually been considering removing the damn thing altogether.
So if Apple is trying to sabotage Flash, they’re doing it at the os level not in the browser.

I’m guessing you were meaning Flash and not ClickToFlash when you talked about removing it. I have ClickToFlash, but I have it disabled because I would get more crashes when it’s enabled than from Flash itself.
