Plug-ins and Unity Pro

Hi there,

I understand that plug-ins are a Unity Pro only feature, but have in the past used certain 3rd party products that seem to operate like a plug-in, but don't have that restriction. The code in question was I think something by Prime31 studios or someone similar, that exposes Bluetooth GameKit functionality for iPhone and seems fine under Unity IOS Basic.

The question then, is under what circumstances can Unity IOS Basic access native code? If someone has created a library in Objective C or C++ that they want to expose in Unity, is Unity Pro + Plugins the only route possible?

If you check the licenses page here: you'll see that iOS doesn't have the restriction for native plugins, only the pc/mac version
