Point Cloud Shaders

I imported an LAS point cloud using the ‘Point Cloud Viewer and Tools’…converted to mesh. For some reason, I can only get it to show up as a single color applied to all my points. Is there a setting I’m missing for it to apply the true colors assigned to the points such that it looks like a real world view? Or is there a shader I need to download and apply it to the point cloud mesh after it’s imported? If I import the same LAS into ReCap everything looks as it should…understand this isn’t ReCap, but want to point out that it’s not the LAS file…

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can try a vertexlit shader. The colors are usually stored in the vertex colors, but most shaders ignore these.

If I understand correctly you do want to render the mesh as an actual mesh. The other option would be to actually render it as a cloud of points.

I tried bringing it in as a point cloud first, but the program has you run through a process of converting to a .bin file and then nothing happens after the conversion…I’m unable to drag and drop the LAS nor the BIN file into my scene, which is why I ended up going with the mesh route. I’ll take a look at the vertexlit shader tonight and let you know the results.

Thanks for the reply!

I tried applying a whole bunch of different options to no avail…didn’t see any options though that specifically said vertexlit shader…do I need to download that from somewhere else?
