Poll about new Spherical Harmonics pre-computer

Hi there !

I was wondering how many of you would be interested in an integrated tool that would render spherical harmonics global illumination per vertex, as the one I used to create this : http://www.patapom.com/O3D/Cathedral_Intro.html
(the demo uses O3D, the ancestor to WebGL by Google) (definitely have to port it to WebGL I suppose)

I know Beast already does that kind of job more or less as I’ve read about SH light probles in the forum but I was wondering how many of you use these light probles, and if you would be interested to “upgrade” to per-vertex GI ?

The cost of SH per vertex is very low in terms of computation although it makes your meshes grow by about 50% in memory.

Of course, that’s just an idea, I’m not even sure Unity can support such a feature yet and I have to do some serious investigation about that.

Let me know if you’d be interested and how much you would pay for such a tool !
Thanks.

. Pom .

I would be interested.

Would there be a requirement on vertex density?

I would pay 100 euros.

Mokay, you seem to be the only one there…
That’s a pretty big development in perspective so if there is no more interest, I guess it’s bye bye for now.

damn … :frowning:

I would be very interested! Looks awesome. Would this be a usefull tool for baking lighting to a forest? Would this just be used for baking the light and is that light dynamic?

I’m interested!

me too
