Ok I emailed the company that now owns poser, and have yet to get a response. I apologize if this post doesnt belong here, but would poser be benificial to purchase to make character creation a wee bit easier or is that mainly used for high poly animations or still images? I know blender has something called make human which is an addon from what I read. Has anyone used poser and what are the export import formats.
I haven’t used it, but I can tell you about it. Poser is only useful for making renders or films. It is NOT a modeler, it’s an animation tool designed for completed, rigged, textured models to be loaded in.
I have never heard of anyone actually exporting animations from poser, so it’s kind of useless for us game creators in that aspect. Maybe with some kind of blender import/export flow, it could be done, but I don’t use blender so I don’t know what it can/can’t do.
If you want the models from poser(the free ones), you’ll also need to use a different program other then poser to save the models out. As far as I have ever heard, Poser itself doesn’t have export options.
So, Poser is awsome for movies and stills, but not for games.
Hope this helps. ![]()
