I realize Unity is intended primarily for real-time interactive content, but is it possible to create/record movies - for example, a walk through?

These are the programs I am familiar with:
Best for tutorials/training etc.
Full featured editing/producing.
Free thirty day trial:
Good for fast desktop recording:
Free and for fee versions:
Best for PC games.
Will record everything in the Unity Editor and Game views, but not the panels.
For Mac, I have had very good luck with Snapz Pro.

You can capture everything to quictime, including mouse interaction.
I use Screenflow
It’s very nice because right after you record a video, it opens up the editor tool and you can edit that clip right away. I’ve made some Unity tutorial movies with it.
Copurnicus for mac is my favorite.
I guess I should have been more clear. I’m aware of screen capture utilities. (I use Screen Recorder because it works well and is a great value.)
What I meant to ask was whether it’s feasible to use Unity to produce things like animated short films as opposed to interactive experiences. I gather there is no way to export directly from Unity to a movie, but is there a way to create and save timeline animations so that they can be “played back” later and recorded using a screen capture utility?
Sorry for the newbie question, but I’ve never used a game engine before, so I’m wanting to know what I can and can’t do with it.
While I have no desire at this point to create games, I do want to create some interactive content. However, I also need to create “pre-recorded” animations like walk-throughs and short movies. Can the latter be done with Unity, or am I better off looking at some other software for that; and if so, does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
-Steve
