Can I render a gameobject or particles over top a GUI box or button? Perhaps some trick with the camera could do it?
I want to make a gameObject loading bar and have it show up in front of a screen-sized GUI box that serves as a window. Is this not possible?
The GUI renders over everything in the scene, so you can’t make a scene object cover up a GUI element. Is is possible for you to simulate your window using a plane in the scene?
Maybe, that’s basically the EZ GUI way. But that would mean re-creating my whole interface from the ground up.
Unity GUI really needs some work. If it could batch draw calls and have controllable depth (that worked with 3D objects) then it would rock!
The biggest thing I don’t like about EZ GUI is that I can’t work in screen space, which is how 2D interfaces should be worked on.
