[Edit]

Unity for windows 8 will using (switching back and forth from mono and M$ .net ?) native microsoft .Net, does it means will be included on current desktop license ? or separate license with those windows mobile 8 product line ?. If not and it will be included on normal desktop license, will it be current GC issues will be resolved with using microsoft runtime ?. Oh well…

Xbox 360 indie? I like the sound of that!

Why U no put in a link? I can’t manage to copy the damn thing on my phone!

Oh, I like the look of this. For all those who want an actual link, Shows | Microsoft Learn

mmmm no time for watching a 45 minutes video… the jist is?

The jist is that Windows RT support is coming soon. There is currently a beta going on, and you can join it if you ask them. They think a public beta will be available by the holidays. But this was filmed at the beginning of November, so I think they didn’t make it. This doesn’t include Windows Phone, which is lagging behind.

Windows RT support? So this means us unity users could potentially have the ability to make games for XBLA without XNA? If so…damn that’s good news. And Windows Phone 8 too! Finally.

@Code_Of_Honour: I doubt this stuff after looking at about half the video.

They already have native support for XBox, unless MS starts accepting native code into XBLA Indie games I doubt we will see an iOS/Android like XBox export functionality.

The WinRT support is specific to target WinRT Tablets like the Surface, basically Windows 8 On Arm devices. Also to note: the video is from November 2nd.

@Starsman - Ahh yes, I see. So this is just the pre-announcement of Real Windows 8 support. If it means anything at all; given that it’s a month old and there was no hype surrounding it back then.
