Prebaked Environment and Dynamic Shadows

Hello,

I’m currently experimenting with Light-maps and Light-probes for a 2.5D top down game. the first results are great but there is one thing I’m missing. How do I get the dynamic ground shadows of my moving ground vehicles back within this pre-baked environment? My current project is intended for mobile devices like the ipad2 and up.

Please enlighten me.

Peter.

I really can’t get those dynamic ground shadows to appear after Unity is finished baking my light maps. I also did read the following manual a few times LightmappingInDepth. For my understanding it doesn’t tell which combinations are supported on which platform except that Dual Lightmaps don’t work by default with forward rendering. I use forward rendering because I’m trying to build a mobile IOS game.

Which Lightmapping mode do I than choose to get dynamic/fake shadows on my baked/static Unity Terrain environment with one directional sunlight inside the scene? The shadows disappear from the terrain with single light mapping mode and the also disappear with directional light mapping mode.

Unity 4.0.1 Pro with IOS Pro.

I also found this tread but non of the suggestions is helping!

Help!

Peter.

We do have information about the types of lightmapping supported by different platforms in our documentation, but admittedly it’s not all in one place for renderers/lightmapping and supported light types etc specifically for mobiles.

To the best of my knowledge Unity built for Mobile supports: forward rendering with directional or single lightmaps lightmaps, or vetex lit path with single lightmaps. We’ve added a docs task to help with linking this info.
