I am not sure when and why this happens, but sometimes when I try and edit my prefab the scene view does not show the prefab content, but just regular scene content.
When this happens, I can see that I am in prefab editing mode because everything else looks ok, the hierarchy shows the prefab content only etc.
Only way to fix this is to restart Unity or (not 100% sure) but close scene view and open it up again.
Has anyone had similar issue? This is kind of bug that is difficult to constantly reproduce, because well… if you restart Unity, it works as normal. So sending bug report is not going to help…
So weird and annoying…
Using Unity 2019.3.3f1 but I am pretty sure that I saw this happening in 2019.3.1 and 2019.3.2 as well.
Go to [Edit → Project Settings → Editor], and there is a field where you can set which scene is in the background while you are editing prefabs. Just remove the scene so the value is “None”, and you will have an empty scene while you edit prefabs.
If that doesn’t work, it’s probably worth a bug report.
I have checked and the prefeb editing environments were not set. They are empty.
So… this seems like a bug… I don’t even know how to reproduce it… it just happens suddenly sometimes… I have to close scene view and reopen it to make it work again. Super annoying…
