Prefab losing inheritance after being placed into group

Kind of stuck here,

I made a coin which consists of a few elements like particles and actual geometry etc. I made a prefab out of it but when I place this coin prefab into any group - this coin instantly loses its connection to its parent prefab. This means if I’m making 10 groups of different world levels, put there some coins and suddenly decide to change something in Coin prefab - I have to delete all older coins from all worlds levels and repopulate them there again using newer version of coin prefab! Am I doing something wrong or is it the way it is supposed to be? Thanks in advance for any help and advice!

Unity does not currently support nested prefabs. It’s been sort of a sore point for a lot of people for a lot of years… Allegedly it’s in the works, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. There are assets for sale that will allow you to do this, if you don’t mind going third party.
