Prefered audio format for electronic music? (poll)

I’m going to make some royalty free electronic music to submit on the asset store and I would like to know what format everyone prefers. Just so I know is all.

If anybody has anything else to add feel free.

Personally I prefer lossless, but I think you should use a compressed format like lossless FLAC rather than full sized WAV or AIFF files. Download sizes would get smaller and tools to convert it to another format of choice are far and plenty these days.

FLAC, definitely.

Thanks guys. Now I have a better idea on what format to record in. Although I will say that FLAC may be a bit difficult for me as pro tools doesn’t support FLAC format only the ones listed plus Quicktime movies and some SD II format, which I have no clue what that is. I may have to save the music I make in .wav format, import it in Audacity, and save or export it in FLAC from there.

wav works too, no problem imho. Either, as long as it’s lossless I’m happy :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Excuse the necro but why have we been waiting more than 3 years for FLAC import support - surely this is almost a drop in feature given the number of open source FLAC decoder libraries around.

Storing our audio in uncompressed WAV to have lossless in 2015 is a bit crazy! It’s the format that makes sense.
