Are these supposed to be building faster? I moved over to them during the introductory period to see what it would do to our builds.
Android builds on STANDARD: About 15-17min
Android builds on PREMIUM: About 16-22min
Local build: 8-10min
On average the build times seem longer on the premium machines.
I ran a bunch of testing with the premium builds as well.
They did decrease building time by ~8% but the 5-6 minutes saved isn’t worth the 350% price premium for my team.
The size and complexity plays a huge role in the benefits of premium. The larger the project the better the performance. Clean builds are where you will see the biggest performance differences across all projects.
