Targets will come in waves and be of various types and culminate with a large boss ship that the player must help destroy. The targets will damage various parts of the port if they make it past the player. The score will have something to do with # of targets destroyed and amount of damage to the port. The overall goal of the game for my work is to teach the player how to operate the pan/tilt/zoom system on the UAV (which is a model of a real UAV) while playing an action game.

Gravball
By Interactive Illusions

The “Tronic All” robots are being revised… they are top notch nanobots, but suddenly infected by a strange virus. The lack of stability and predictiveness of the virus pushes us to manually fight the virus. We have found a way to decrease the stability of this virus by shooting specific anti-virus components, that are able to remove certain threats.
Inspired by many earlier puzzle games, we decided to create a combined puzzle/action game based on new technologies. The gameplay is completely based on physics and randomness. Level of difficulty is set by the growth and diversity of the virus.
Our goal is to create an addictive and interactive puzzle-action game, playable on the web on a standard modern pc. We will use some extra web-technologies to improve the overall game experience.

At first, there is only Player vs Computer in four difficulties.
The terrain can have obstacles so units must find his path and strategies to defeat his opponents based on the actual state of the board, the actual state of his abilities and the actual state of the enemy units. Abilities include Move, Jump, Attack, Defend, Mitosis (divide one unit into two), Mother song (heals a friendly unit with nature elemental), Eruption (Damage an area with fire elemental), at the initial glance. Abilities names are not final yet, and there could be more abilities all in function of the time left.
Modifiers include Regeneration (some life points per second) and Bleed (some life points taken per second), as like the abilities, names are not final yet and could be more.
The scenery, terrain and difficulty are set interactively so you can select it at the start setup of the game.

Project Weasel (Online)
By Tonio Loewald, Levan Iordanishvili, Vincent Esche, Ian McPhee

Essentially a cross between “Elite/Privateer” style space travel / combat / trading games with Space Control style quests and arc plot, with surface action.
The idea of the game is work both online and standalone across as many platforms as possible (some platforms not supporting Unity). E.g. you may be able to log on using a pure AJAX interface and do non-realtime things such as repair your ship, engage in trade, or send messages to other players.
For the time being we don’t plan to have live multiplayer content so much as player interaction and competition. E.g. you can trade goods with other players, and take missions from a central repository. If you take a mission, it becomes unavailable to other players – unless you fail, whereupon it becomes available again and now pays more. Missions can be completed offline – so you can accept a bunch of missions online, get on a plane, complete the missions, and then log back on and collect your rewards.

Turtles come out of doors at random and increase in speed as they move across the course - they also speed up if they “know” you are trying to catch them. CuttleCandy

CuttleCandy is a unique online casual game. The result is an easy to pick-up, hard to put-down game of underwater candy gathering goodness.

CosmoRama
By Jessy VanDivner Catie Thomas

The objective of the game is to “draw” a series of pictures. The “drawings” are made up of 3D objects, which must be “colored” in a specific order. The player must mouse over the objects in order to do this, and may use any mouse or keyboard button he or she pleases to actually “apply” the color. Both pointing-and-clicking and “painting” styles will work. More difficult drawings will encourage the use of both techniques.
There is a certain time allotted to draw each picture, during which the uncolored objects change color gradually. If a drawing is not completed in this time, the player must try again from the beginning of the current level (the levels are not long). Also, if an object is colored “out of order”, the player will have to start the drawing they are working on over again.
If the player successfully completes a drawing, a full-color picture will be displayed on-screen that resembles the shape of that drawing. This picture will then be placed into a 3D scene, possibly multiple times, and usually with animation applied. The pictures themselves are 2D, but because many of them will eventually be present, and because they will not all be in the same plane, the resulting imagery can be likened to a paper cutout “puppet show”. Each level begins as a total void, and every element the player brings into it causes it to become more vivid.
The “camera” will reside in the middle of 3D world. This causes the game to be a virtual cyclorama. Although the drawings you have to complete will be fixed in place on-screen, the camera will be constantly rotating during the game, in order to let you see the scene you have created. The rate of rotation will increase each time you complete a drawing, which serves to both let you see more of the scene in the same amount of time, and hopefully add some tension and excitement as you approach the end of the level. When a level is complete, the player will be able to rotate the camera at will.
An extra fast, “hard” mode, will be available for stylus users or those who are very skilled at the game in general.

Vertigo
By Hellasoft Interactive

Its a variation on physics based stacking games with a different control system (possibly) multiple play modes.
The stacking based games we’ve played are fun but we wanted to do something that moves much faster has a more ‘arcade’ feel to it. We have a snapping system that allows you to build quickly precisely.

Extreme Sledding
By Social Sauce

A high speed, downhill sledding racer. Complete slalom courses on extreme terrain while fending off the elements. Fun and easy to learn with simple controls–but at high speed it becomes what some have called- “The most challenging winter sports game, ever.” You must balance speed, control, and deadly aim with a snowball to break the record.

Rush
By Sam Shiels Jack Shiels

An arcade game where you play as a microscopic nanobot. The nanobot is tiny which means you can play in very interesting environments.

QRONS
By Marty Plumbo

A “casual action game”, inspired by the simple, easy-in-easy-out twitch-fest retrogames from the Atari 2600 era but with an updated mechanic and modern, Unity-driven, kick-ass 3D graphics. I want to keep the controls to a minimum (gamepad or a few keys), the rules straightforward and the goals obvious.
I want QRONS to utilize the web browser as a platform for playing QRONS, so that players need not ever install or update the game. But even more, I want to use the web to create a sense of community and competition amongst players of QRONS by listing the top 10/100 scores and ranks achieved on an HTML webpage, so that players can check (or even RSS) their rankings without having to actually load or play the game.
The backstory for QRONS is simple, but sufficient to motivate the player and tie the game elements together. A series of ore mines, owned and operated by the AstroCo corporation in an isolated asteroid field on the outskirts of a distant solar system, is being invaded by one of their competitors. These kinds of things happen in deep space business dealings. Fortunately, AstroCo is prepared to blast the surface of each asteroid with enough radiation to move the invaders nicely along. Unfortunately, they can’t do so until all of their expensive mining robots, which would be destroyed by the radiation, have been rescued from the surface. And you fly the rescue ship. Fortunately, the robots, or QRONS as they are referred to by those in the business, are of no value to the invaders, so they’ll leave them alone. Unfortunately, the invaders know what you’re up to and they’ll be trying hard to stop you.
The play mechanic of QRONS consists of flying the ship across the three-dimensional surface of each asteroid, using forward and back thrust and left and right turns. Players can fire two kinds of missiles: straight-ahead and surface-hugging. There are no other weapons. The QRONS appear on the surface of the asteroid and wander between a series of waypoints set for challenge. When the payer nears one, the QRON will walk toward them. As the player pilots the ship into the QRON, it is rescued and disappears from the surface.

Quite a list, good luck to everyone!!!

Wow, looks like an impressive lineup. And since these are all web-based, I’d have no objections to people submitting them to Unicade after the showing…

wow nice variety across that lineup! looks like lots of fun games to play there - can’t wait to try them all out ; )

Oh My God…

Seeing the game titles of the other entrants and their brief description of their games makes me want to retreat!
:-(.

Can’t wait to play all those games

Oh this is exciting, there are so many great sounding games. I am looking forward to playing them all.

Best of luck to everyone.

Regards.

Wow! big list!! I want screenshots screenshots!!

I’m excited to see so many entries!
This is going to be fun.

Wow! More entries than I thought! Intimidating

Great list of entries!

I wish I plugged into this scene a bit earlier … me wanna play (Woof) … so when do the web players go online for the peoples choice?

Okay, I uploaded my entry, I hope it uploaded okay.

It is the very first official release of any kind that I made. Not as spectacular compared to some but I think it’s not that bad considering I never made a video game until now with Unity.

WooHoo!!

Just get ready to take a test!

Will be improving it as time goes by.

Ray,

P.S.
The game was made possible by Unity3D and the help of everybody here in the community!
Thanks!

I’m proud to announce CuttleCandy has been released for Top DOG review. This has been a life long dream of mine to complete a game ready for publishing. Made reality via Unity3D, OTEE, and the Unity Community. Thank you all! We did it!

Yes we’re proud to have submitted Dukateers for reviewing. Thank you much for your support on some math stuff I couldn’t figure out.

This community is awesome; positive and helpful! Truly unique.
Hope to meet you in the US in October!

I uploaded Elemental evolution for review

not quite finalized yet, a lot of stuff to do “after”, but well, a playable version at least

.ORG

Omar, great art on your website!
curious about all results!

Yep, as with most everyone else, still needs some work but it’s looking good. For some reason my WWW access wouldn’t work in the webplayer to fetch high scores, tho works in the editor and stand alone.

I noticed the same with my build. It looks like it does work after the user makes a request via a php post. It may be a safety thing to avoid auto loop loads.

Cheers,

This has to be a quick post, but do a search for the issue. It’s a known one, and is fixed in Unity 2.0. Apparently it’s only a problem on some servers.

I’m proud to announce that Three Melons’ Tennis game has been uploaded just seconds before deadline.

Some ScreenShots:

Still needs a lot of polishing and bug fixing but we are happy with what we came up in this month of work.

We’re all very excited about this contest and willing to play other team’s games!!!
