Preview window displays assets very bright or completely white when using Static Lighting Sky

Why are the objects in the preview window displaying mostly completely white (brightness is overblown), when I set the static lighting sky to HDRISky or Physically Based Sky? Is this a bug? I think that I started noticing this bug almost half a year ago, but I didn’t find anyone complaining about this problem, so now I am unsure whether the problem is only on my end.

Turning off the directional light or lowering its intensity to night level makes the object display in the preview window normally.
Also I found out that when I change the Light Probe System in HDRP settings to Light Probe Groups it fixes the preview window.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

  1. Use current Unity 2022/6 version.
  2. Create New High Definition 3D project
  3. The Static Lighting Sky should already be set to Physically Based Sky.
  4. Click on any asset that will show in the preview window.
  5. Asset shows very bright in the preview window.

i have the exact same thing happening on the latest version of unity 6.

I’ve also been having this issue for several versions now. It seems random too for me. It happens the most in the animation preview window and sometimes it displays correctly and sometimes not without me touching that setting. Perhaps I am causing some sort of change some where else.

Either way, ridiculous this isn’t fixed by now.

I just checked Unity 6.1 and it seems like this bug is finally fixed.
