Pricing - Client or Developer?,

I’ve been asked to quote on developing a Unity App by my client, this will be my first Unity App so I’m a little unsure the standard practice on the pricing.

What is the standard practice, I need to use Unity Plus, but as a solo developer paying $40 p/m seems a bit excessive (especially as I don’t normally develop apps in Unity) - Who normally takes the cost for this, as the developer would I be expected to pay it (much like having an Adobe CC, Apple, or Google Play license. Or does the client normally bare this cost, much like hosting fees of a website?

Or is it a case, I purchase the Plus package whilst I’m developing the app and then can cancel afterwards?

Thanks in advance,

,

Personally, I see this as the cost of doing business. You wouldn’t ask the client to foot the bill for a Visual Studio or Jetbrains subscription, so why itemize Unity? Unless the client specifically requested the app be built in Unity, why should they know/care what it was made with?

Take the $40/mo hit to make your client happy and they will give you far more than that in business.
