I’ve got a problem with the pro water shader. The reflection seems to flicker and display incorrectly depending on certain camera positions and orientations.
I’ve had this trouble with a few scenes.
See the attachments.
In the first image the reflection and refraction is displaying correctly, the second shows the water displaying incorrectly after a small camara orientation change.
Here’s another example. On the left reflections and refractions are displaying correctly. On the right it is incorrect after a small orientation change
Wow, that stinks. This happens all the time for you? For example, if you create a new project and setup the water again it will do it everytime?
Have you checked you hardware? i.e. what graphics card are you running? have you tried reproducing on another workstation?
Are you using deferred rendering or forward rendering?
I’ve had this happen in a few projects, where there’s multiple objects with the water shader. I’m hoping it’s something to do with my setup of materials and water script. I have a copy of the water script applied to each object.
I’m currently using forward rendering, but it does not seem to matter if I use deferred.
I’ve built a new project and the problem persists.
Problem also persists on different workstations.
I also see it in both the editor and built scenes.
See another example below. The incorrect reflection is on the right. You can see that some of the reflection that should appear on the rear pool is actually rendered to the large pool in the foreground.
i know it’s old thread, but just in case someone having the trouble, I fixed the flickering by reducing the rendered objects in the Refract Layers on Water script
