Problem while importing large asset files

I wanted to use the blacksmith assets so I downloaded them from unity asset store after completing the download unity imports and tries decompresses the package but then for some reason it opens many other applications and forces me to restart my windows user session. Does this happy to anyone else, does anyone know whats wrong and can someone help me fix it. I did read about a similar problem happening in unity 4.

Additional info

  • doesn’t happen for smaller unity asset packages.
  • windows 8.1
  • unity 5.1.1f1(when i try to update it says its the latest version)
  • nvidia 960 geforce, drivers version 353.30

I had this problem when i downloaded the same blacksmith assets. Give it some time, it will do import files. My system got crashed 4 times later on 5th time i didn’t do any other stuff with system(not even opened any other browser) except only blacksmith. you need to have unity 5.1.1 version then only it will support.

Best way to do is restart your computer. Download blacksmith from asset store and don’t use any other application, it will be finished in one hour.
