I am very dissapointed with Cheetah3D. I bought it and I have tried to use it but it seems every transform ( rotation, scale…) operation I made in an imported model doesn’t work. When I open the model in Unity the transform is not there!! I mean if I scale the model in Cheetah it is not applied on the model in Unity.
I never saw a 3D tool less intuitive…
I’d love to see what 3d tools you use if you’ve never seen a less untuitive one than Cheetah. :?
Cheetah 3d is one of the few modeling apps where I could start modelling without a tutorial or manual, but I guess that varies by individuals.
Get your hands on Blender 3d.
Works fine for me. I made a quick model, and imported it in Unity.
I double-click the prefab in unity to open Cheetah to edit it, and any change I make is applied to the Unity model seconds after saving it in Cheetah.
This hasn’t been a problem for me.
Do you have a specific example?
Did you already bind the vertices to a skeletal system?
Also, keep in mind, if you used Unity’s “import New Asset” to import your model originally, Unity is likely using a copy of your model, and not the original that you may be opening. Make sure to set Cheetah as the default 3d app in preferences, and open your model by double-clicking it in the prefabs section of Unity to make sure you’re working on the same asset.
Good luck.
I like Cheetah 3D. I’ve found it to be fairly easy to use… and I have 0 experience with other modelers.
