whenever i try to download a file online for Unity and drag it onto my desktop so i can import it to unity from there, it says there is a problem preventing the file from being encrypted… I don’t have Winzip because i don’t have the money to buy it. If that isn’t the problem what is???
what kind of file?
packages don’t need winzip, they need to be added through import package in the menu.
if it is an assetbundle or unity3d file you can’t get it into a project at all, that are compressed and protected assets which can not be used in the editor, only in the game mode / player at all
PS: don’t use winzip unless some strange special zip file requires it. 7-zip.org is much more solid and has 7z compression that easily trashes anything winzip has to offer. Oh and its free
(it uses the same compression in the non-beta as the unity webplayer, LZMA)
Thanks, Well i ended up doing it the PITA way. After it unzipped using windows explorer i went into the Assets folder of the file and just dragged the assets into a new file on my desktop. it works OK but i was hoping it was going to be as easy as they make it look on the mac haha
