Unity creates an XCode project for you. Open that project in XCode and use the XCode tools to build and run on the device.
Is it even possible to load the app to the iPhone without paying 99$/year?
When I try to set up my device in the iOS Dev Center I always end up on the page where the “Enroll now” button is…
No it’s not possible without paying $99/year.
Even if I just want to test it? Without uploading it to the appstore or something like that.
And can I run my app with the xcode emulator without paying the 99$? When I try to run it I get this:
“No matching code signing identity found
No codesigning identities (i.e. certificate and private key pairs) matching “iPhone Developer” were found. Xcode can resolve this issue by downloading a new provisioning profile from the Member Center.”
Even for testing on a device you need to pay.
You do not need to pay for use of the simulator.
Ok thanks, but how do I use the simulator? I get an error as mentioned before.
What happens if you let Xcode resolve this by downloading a new provisioning profile from Member Center?
Where can I set the Simulator as the destination?

There is a simulator option on Unity
