Problem with lights in 4.3

Hi there!

I use new sorting layers feature to render various object properly in 4.3. However, for reasons unknown, I can’t get this working with lights (halo, point, etc). I set the correct layer via script and it works with any object but lights seem to be rendered always “under” the texture (see attached screenshot).


Any idea how to make this work properly?

So far I discovered that it’s because of default material Sprites-default. Unfortunately, Sprites-diffuse does not solve my issue completely since it allows for lights but makes some unintended graphic distortion between other graphic layers so I decided to to go around and just put a texture a game object and adjust alpha so it looks like halo light - maybe this will help to someone having the same problems.
