Hey guys, i’m new here and new to unity.
I’m having a slight problem with getting my textured model to look exactly the same in unity as it does in maya.
This is what my model is supposed to look like (screenshot from maya)
But when I export it to unity it’s almost 100% the same except for this patch right here:
Things I’ve tried:
Deleted all history
Re-arranged my mapping (I used planar mapping)
A different texture
if anybody has any advice, i’d appreciate them.
thanks
Which version of the FBX exporter do you have installed? Until Unity 2.6 is released the ideal one to use is FBX 2009.3 which can be downloaded here:

I havent used FBX at all, I have just saved it as .mb and copied the .mb into the assets folder
how is the geometry it is possible you may have a stray face there which is flipped. Try turning off the backface culling if it is on just to check
Unity imports your Maya files using FBX in the background when you save them into your Unity Project folder. Which version of the FBX plug-in is installed?
That is very clearly an error in the UV data. Try upgrading/downgrading to the recommended FBX plug-in and re-exporting.

This is slightly off topic but you can make your texture seamless using the offset filter in Photoshop, working the seams, then offsetting it back.
It’s not a surprise to me…
No matter the engine you will export your model, sometime Maya will broke your model…
Then beforce importing your*
mb file :
Did you clear the history of your object?
Did you do a Freeze Transformation on you object?
Did you clean your Outliner?
Did you try to Triangulate yourself the bugging faces?
Did you try to delete the single polygon/Face and creating it again?
and… maybe try to triangulate the full object!
I think it should be ok after that
And I know where you got texture
