Can this be fixed in Unity? Or do we need to wait for Apple to fix it?

We have just done a few tests. On our iMac with Radeon HD2600, the shadows are displayed. But on our MacBook Pro with Radeon X1600, the shadows only show up in full screen at native resolution.
Apple or ATI did manage to break some things in drivers for Radeon X series in 10.5.3. Specifically, shadows sometimes disappear (for no apparent reason; it depends on how long the machine was booted up… huh), and some image postprocessing effects are broken. We have filed several bugs for Apple and talked to their OpenGL guys. They seem to be working on a fix.

Apple has acknowledged new bug reports on this by merging them with the original bug report – so that means that there is at least a human aware of things, I guess.
