Every time I attempt to import a .blend file, instead of it showing my 3D model, I just get the FBXImporting thing. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? It wasn’t doing this until recently.
Does anyone know why this is happening? I’d like to continue with my project…
ensure the fbx is in the correct format.
for unity 2.x I think fbx 6 works, + 2010.x
for u3 its fbx 2011 by now I think
how do i go about doing this?
Let me check if I got it right: you are using direct import of blend (i.e. you have your *.blend (not *.fbx) in your project). It used to work, but it doesn’t now. By “doesn’t work” you mean you can’t see it in preview? Does it work for any of the models? What kind of changes did you make in your model/project/import settings that could affect this?
Please try give more details (screenshots help a lot).
I don’t believe I changed anything in the importing function of unity. I use to be able to make a model in blender, save as a .blend, import it into unity via import asset, and now instead of it showing my 3D model, I just get whats in the picture below.
Can you post your model (or send PM to me)? I’ll see if I can import it. You’re using Unity 2.6, right?
Hi,
I have no problems importing your mesh into Unity 2.6.1f3 or 3.0.
Could you do the following:
- Press “reimport” on your mesh (and do not close Unity)
- then go to “[your project folder]/Temp” and send me ExportedBlenderFBXFile.fbx
It’s an intermediate file exported from Blender. I’ll see if I can import that.
Which Blender are you using?
Regards,
Paulius
