Problems with exporting Maya animations

Hello,

I need your help, we are newbies in Unity and we are having problems to exports animations from Maya to FBX. Here you can find the Maya models:

What are we missing? Maybe is it the kind of animation that can’t be exported? I’m the programmer and I’m totally clueless, but the 3D artist is not able to find any solution. Please, can anybody help us? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Haven’t used Unity for ages but maybe try to bake the animation to the joints. select all joints and Edit → Keys → Bake Simulation (option box).

Also I recommend doing a Edit → Delete all by type → None deformer history.
And clean the file from unused materials, groups etc

For skinning I always use Interactive, dont know if Unity supports or understands Post.
I also use max 3 influences.

You are using deformers on your meshes which will not export, to get those to work in Unity you will either have to try and recreate the effect with bones or you can export to a Point Cache file and use MegaFiers to play that back or use the modifiers also available in MegaFiers to recreate the effects, you are using a Wave deformer and that is available in MF.
