Problems with importing Animation from Blender to Unity (Graph Editor)

HI, I did an animation with blender and im struggling importing the animation to unity.
I did the animation with the graph editor in blender. Once I import the animation to unity, it doesn’t import the intire animation.
here what I tried so far:

  • I baked the animation or in graph editor its called “bake channels”, what made the fish or the animation move in unity but somehow not the intire anim. from blender (it doesn’t importet the wavemovement)
  • Imported the object to Unity over FBX
  • On blender I changed in the graph editor the Z quaternion rotation, waht makes the curvy/wavy movement of the fish or the bones (pic. in blender) but in unity the movemt turns to be a stiff movement from one fix point → the tale moves from left to right.

I tried to add a video in which it would be more clear what part of the animation is not working on unity, unfortunatly im not able to post videos yet, i tried but the messages “Sorry, new users can not upload attachments” pops up… i guess my trust level in the community is to low…

What exactly is “partly”?

The screenshot isn’t helping because that’s Blender but your problem is with the Unity imported asset. Please provide a problem description.

In Blender I animated a wave movement to the fish (pic. blender) but once I import it to unity it actually move from left to right but except for the wave movement (pic. unity)

It sounds a bit like about root. You can try:

(1) setting the “Root Node” in Rig as the center of your waving in Blender.

(2) (before/after setting the root node) turn on or off the “Apply Root Motion” option to check the effect.

What is the “Root Node”? do you mean the Root Bone?

Thx mate, I was able to solve the riddle. I had to convert the bendy bones to regular bones in blender, after this change it worked perfectly fine in unity. Due to your hint with the Root node I found the right track.
