I’m on Unity 2020.1.3f1 and trying to snap probuilder verticies to the grid. I am using the ctrl+\ shortcut but they don’t move to my specified 1x1x1 grid. Non-probuilder objects snap normally. Holding control to force snapping during movement doesn’t work like I want it to and I’m not sure why either. It snaps them relative to the original position, not the global grid.
Hi @intox can you provide a little more information on your case?
Snapping should work well on probuilder meshes as it is on non-probuilder objects.
Hi intox_! Sounds like some confusion with the snapping, I’ll try to clarify:
-
Make sure you do not have ProGrids installed, it will interfere
-
Holding CTRL will not snap to the Grid. It only snaps relative amounts (standard behavior for Unity, we didn’t want to change people’s muscle memory).
-
You can enable/disable Snap Handle to Global Grid by clicking the toggle button on, or hitting "" (shortcut can be changed in the Shortcut Manager, of course
). This will snap the Handle to the Grid when moving in Global space (like ProGrids used to do).
Hope that helps!
