Procedural emission map?

Hi, I’m trying to find the best way to solve a problem. We will have a elevator in our multiplayer map. The elevator is usable so the up/down arrows indicating current direction and the buttons need to lit up dynamic and react to current dynamic state.

How is this best achieved?
