process of selling a game

So Me and my brother are almost done with a small game and we are a small company of 2 as you can see I was wondering once we are done what is the process of selling the game I understand you can sell the game with a free version of unity but how do you track that we reach up to $100,000 in revenue do we have to pay unity anything to sell our games what are all the steps to selling this game with the unity free version your help would be wonderful Thank you for your time

In all honesty, if you make a much smaller amount, you’re probably gonna buy unity anyway right? Investment in your future games.

While we’re on the subject of honesty, chances of making 100k… slim to none.

You do not pay Unity anything to sell your game. The steps to sell your game with the free version are the exact same as the steps to sell your game with the Pro version.

As far as I know you don’t buy it the second you hit that 100k mark but when you are publishing another game after reaching it. Also, it’s not just 100k in game sales. If you make 60k from your day job and 40k from using Unity, you need to buy pro.

These replies are very helpful thank you guys

lol. sure.

Only if you haven’t formed a legal company.

Nonsense. The term used is commercial entity. Free is perfectly fine if you have wages over the 100k mark, as long as your Unity use is separate from your day job. If the two are related in any way, you have to use pro.

Wait, you mean you won’t notice an extra 100 k in your bank account?

Bookkeeping is kinda mandatory if you are selling to consumers and earn money like a business, no matter if your and your brothers company is a fake or not.

I’m just going by this post:

Interesting. I may have to go back and check my legal terms on this one.

100k is not that high of a threshold for personal income.
