Programming on Raspberry Pi 3?

Hi Guys,
I run a non profit and we are planning our summer program for young adolescents. I was wondering if you guys knew if I could issue out Raspberry Pi 3’s to students and teach them to program basic text based/2d games using the Raspberry Pi.

I don’t think there even is a Linux version of Unity but perhaps someone has a workaround?

Yes there’s a Linux version of Unity, but you can’t use the Raspberry Pi since there is no version of Unity that can run on an ARM chip, regardless of OS. I mean, you can still use the Raspberry Pi to teach programming, but not with Unity.
