Project Borrower - Adventure's of the smaller (human)beings

Hello there everyone, This is a small title that I would like to make
Adventure’s of the small beings (A work in progress, even the title is not fully made) is a survival game in which is not like most, Sadly my coding, animation ,and 3d modelling is not the best however I will show what I have built so far in level design, with may aspects of mechanics I would like to add in game later on

The opening scene, as soon as you start the game this is what is shown to you , the controls to the game, the basics

I been playing around with the idea of the gaming having cartoon shaders to make the game look a bit more timeless, Like the legend of zelda wind-waker or minecraft, game that seem timeless due to the intentional function that the graphics are not meant to be great looking, just build up a scene; But that does not mean that it will not be without realism as well

This is a scene that acts to the realism of the game, As you progress inside the house there is a letter of eviction, and a wheelchair, however no story, so what is the scene? Well your left to explore! It’s your world to explore or even make a story with what piece are given to the player
This picture is not finish, and this level altogether is a test on layout of how levels could be, and if things would work with in the game, as I am slowly learning java coding, I would hope to add things like
.Grapling hook
.Collecting Items that randomly generate though out certain places in the map
.More Characters and maybe even some enemies that you can fend off with a pin that you can find
.Customization of character and home
.Different Maps that will be always changing (random generating, or randomly picking a pre-made map)

but I am a long way from making any of this a reality and all I am doing is opening up an Idea to a mechanic of collecting items to use for 2 reasons, decorative reasons in a home (under the house you raid for items) that make sofas or tables, small ornaments and trinkets that look nice, and to customize your own given area to make a home, or the use-able reasons; In which you build tools to cross gaps or meet new highs in the game, whether a place you can’t cross over to and must build a way over like a ruler or small portable plank, to something more complex when getting around people or enemies which out being seen or harmed.

The Game idea comes from The Borrowers by Mary Norton and I just wanted to expand this world a bit more, in an interactive media
Whilst no story is told, I want the players to be lost into a world of the Borrowers.
and for each player to find there own way in the game, for each adventure to be different

If anyone could help me, I would be most grateful however I can not give anything but credit
For the long run I will keep building up as much as I can of this game till the end.

(p.s: Forgive me if I have made grammer or spelling mistakes, and that the production of this little title is slow, but right now… I’m a one man army trying to carry as much weight as I can)

This is quite good but I am a bit confused with the controls. It says:

W = Move forward
A = Stepside to the left
S = Stepside to the right
D = Move backwards

I dunno if S and D got muddled up or it was a typo, but if you intended it to be like that then I would strongly disagree since that would be very difficult and confusing. People don’t want to think of what button to press when playing, they want it to be real simple :slight_smile: Change S to move backwards, and D to stepside to the right :stuck_out_tongue:

yes that’s a typo, forgive me on that! that shall be fixed asap
