I don’t know if this is the right place to ask, but I’m looking for some beginner project ideas. I’ve been trying to come up with any ideas for a beginner side project, but I can’t seem to find any.
“Snake” clone, “Tetris” clone, “Frogger” clone, “Space Invaders” clone… “Mario” clone.

This. Clone something simple. To add to the list:

Naw the stuff everybody up top mentioned is pretty solid advice.
Heck there’s still a market for games like Tetris believe it or not,
so if you can make a game similar and just change the mechanics completely, you might could even start a whole new
genre of games… People always seem to forget to go back to the roots of gaming and what started it all.
You’d be surprised how just changing one single thing from them games could either - A) Break the idea altogether, or B) Create something new, fresh and fun.

You can make a new game with standert asset packages like mario with 2d platform controller;)
