project window suggestion...

Would be nice for the project window if it allowed you to click on the folder hierarchy of a selected file, and it located you to that folder… find it very annoying how the only functionality similar to achieving that is using the rmb context menu [show in explorer] …where is show in project window.

especially when using smart filters or search filter… there is no quick shortcut for going to the exact folder location of a selected asset from a search filter etc… sure you can see the folder hierarchy for it… can’t select any of the paths. like breadcrumbs yknow. …useful because I often locate stuff by hierarchy association … oh yeh I put the shader material in a folder pretty close to that… when you’ve got a growing number of folders in the root direction or many folders expanded out things like this make navigating directly to other assets much faster.

maybe someone could do an extension for it… or like unity actually improve this stuff… project window is pretty useless and could do with a lot more improvements actually.

If you’re using a search filter, you can select the file and remove the filter. That should take you to the file’s folder.

…oh jeez why have I not noticed it working like that

…this isn’t over unity project window! I’m still missing listview with tiny preview icons instead of the gridview with filenames you can barely read unless its a large icon preview or click on each item individually… and maybe size column (actually there was an editor script I saw that someone had done that did introduce file sizes (last modified would be nice), but it wasn’t a sortable column… anyone seen that around?)
