Projecting textures for enemy targeting

Is there a way to project a texture onto the ground? I’m currently designing an enemy targeting system and I was wondering if projection of a texture onto the ground under the enemy was possible.

If you want to put a texture on the ground to show a selection, you could put a plane underneath the enemy with the texture that you want. You could even rotate the plane. Of course, this would be highly dependent on your level design. I’ve never personally used the projector, but if you level design is mostly flat then I would suggest using a plane.
