Projecting textures

Is there a way to change up a projector which allows it to project any texture? I have tried this with other textures but all I end up getting is a repeated pattern throughout the scene. I want this system to work like when placing an aoe effect, ect. Like mmorpg games or Moba games.

Change Repeat to Clamp in the texture properties

Clamp fixed part of the issue. Now there are extra parts of the texture displaying on my terrain for some reason. I was using a .png with alpha and the image in the center. But for some reason a yellow outline is appearing on my terrain as well further away. Not sure if this has to do with the falloff or?

Gotta make sure the edge pixels in the texture are all completely transparent, or full white/black (depending on the shader) because it’s just repeating the edge pixels outside the bounds of the texture.

Use more then 1 pixel as border - like 10 or so. when i stumbeled over this less wasn’t enough. if someone has exact numbers on borders here i’d be interested in knowing.

One should be sufficient, if it’s taking you more, then it’s probably down to mip maps, but then there’s the option for border mip maps
