Proper alpha sorting

Even though the grass and desert tiles in the picture are above the forest tiles, the forest tiles often show up on top. How do I fix this?

Yeah, bump.

I’d like to help but you don’t provide much information and your screenshot doesn’t tell me as much as it evidently tells you.

I don’t see anything with alpha transparency in the picture, so the thread title makes no sense. I’ll take a stab anyway. If you’re working with very small world sizes and your camera is quite close to your tiles in world units, ensure your camera is set up accordingly. You want the ratio (not the difference) between your near and far planes to be as small as possible while still allowing you to draw everything you want to see. Change the near value first, until it’s as high as you can get away with. Then bring the far value down as low as you can get away with.

If that doesn’t do it, I’d be happy to have another go with more information (what I should be looking at, what you expect it to look like, and why alpha sorting is even an issue.)
