Prototype Recoil - Physics Action Platformer

Hey, I’m looking to get some feedback on my prototype game, which for now I’m calling Prototype Recoil. It’s 10 levels, the goal is to just get to the end without dying. The last level is a boss level and on low end computers, it will most likely lag on that level. I wanted to know how many people had computers that can handle that many rigidbodies. Also, any “Let’s play” videos would be very very helpful, audio or not, if you like doing that sort of thing.

I played the first couple levels without any lag at all, but I have a pretty good computer. I have an old laptop I can test it on though. I like it. Are these just placeholders I’m assuming? With some decent models, it’d be real cool!

awesome, thank you :slight_smile: yeah i’m going to get artwork in it defiantly. This is a really early build. It’s really just meant to figure out what kind of gameplay I want to do in the final game.

i have been following your youtube series for quit a long time now and i am using some of your codes from the fps tutorials as a start for some codes in my game. i really do like your RZ game as well but i do wish it has not quite as laggy as it is at the moment.

That is a really good game concept. I really enjoyed it, but it needs tons of polish and some better levels that utilises physics a bit more.

thanks, thats awesome to hear :slight_smile: yeah, RZ is really laggy right now, but im working on splitting it up into scenes. after that it should run faster. I’m hoping 2 or 3 times faster :slight_smile:

awesome, thanks :slight_smile: oh yeah, so far the game contains nothing even close to polish. It’s still really early. Still just focusing on gameplay. I’m glad you liked the physics. the physics parts were my favorite. I think i will try to do more of that in the final game :slight_smile:

I beat the game, that was fun. Awesome job man. If you need any work done for game let me know, read my signature. :] Who knows, I may not even charge you ;]

thank you :slight_smile: hey if i do ill keep you in mind :slight_smile:

seems to be a good game so far :slight_smile:
the main problem i got, while am trying to jump to a high place via shooting down :slight_smile: it is not that accurate, it need to be modified little a bit. But every thing else is so nice;

thank you :slight_smile: yeah, that seems to be something i need to adjust. how did it run on your computer? I noticed that the jumping wasn’t working right when the computer starts to lag.

it running smooth and fine. i used the iMac at work. here its details if you wish :
OS : Lion 10.7.5
