I just got my first asset declined, it’s a music packaged of my original compositions and was declined for two reasons. Firstly, I didn’t credit the source of the image I used in my pacage page… understandable. Secondly, apparently they can’t confirm my music isn’t pirated.
They did comment that my music is ‘good’, which would suggest it’s acceptable in terms of content, I guess I can understand why they want me to back it up.
They’ve asked that I add some info on background etc on my publisher page, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to actually edit my publisher page…
Also, what kind of thing could I use to back it up? This is the first time I’ve every made any attempt to sell my music commercially, prior to this it’s simply been a hobby. I’m self-taught, and just compose for the enjoyment… I don’t have any film credits, or game credits, any formal education etc, I’m not really sure how to prove it is my own.
In Unity, go to the menu Asset Store Tools → Package Manager. In the Window that opens, in the top-right corner there is a button named Publisher Account.
What kind of composition is it? If its digital you will have source files, send them a few screenshots, plus a snippet muting one track at a time, then bringing them back in. You can do something similar on just about any device too (i.e. if you have an 808 quick video of the beats cycling through, then change something).
About the only thing you can’t verify very easily would be a single track audio recording.
I’ve backed up my experience via email with them. That’s a good suggestion, thanks Johnny, I’ll do that if I need to next time.
Thanks for the pointer too, Apshai Arts. I’ve found the box to edit my publisher page, but the save button doesn’t appear to be working. I click save, it refreshed for a minute, but then as soon as I close the box, it reverts to the older information.
There’s no errors in the Unity console/editor either.
