Pushing the limits of mobile : Edge Of Eternity Project

Hello,

I’d like to present the new game of my company “Edge Of Eternity”.

The game is a J-RPG with Final Fantasy turn based combat. Our game target all mobile platforms (iOS / Android / WP8 / BB10), Consoles and PC / Mac / Linux. We also want to do something as impressive as “Epic Citadel” on it’s time with UDK mobile, we want to show the real potential of Unity on mobile with optimized shaders and quality artistic conception.

"The peaceful world of Heryon is threatened by an alien civilization that have invaded the world, they bring with them a disease who turn people and animals to metal monsters.

The hero, Daryon, hunted by his own people must discover his origin and save the universe from collapsing. "

We’re still in early prototype we’re working on it since 2 month, character is not finished

Not to sound rude, but I’d hardly consider this (aesthetically or mechanically) to be “pushing the limits of mobile”. In either case, though, it does look pretty interesting! I mean, after Shadow Gun and Dead Trigger, the mobile bar’s been raised pretty high!

It’s pushing the limits of the mobile since it use some mechanics considered too huge for mobiles before :

Directionnal Lightmapped Bumped Specular
Per Pixel Bumped Specular
Huge amount of particles by per layer shader sorting (prevent overdraw)
Full screen Bloom + Dof + AA combined into one shader
Batched foliage system to create huge amount of grass and trees highly optimized

Shadowgun and Dead Trigger support a higher range of device and then they have less polygons no large foliages and they use per vertex specular instead of per pixel.

Minimum device to run Edge Of Eternity is Samsung Galaxy S2 when Shadowgun and Dead Trigger run on older devices.

We are 5 team members on the project,

1 programmer (me), 3 artists, 1 musician.

But we plan to increase the team size after the kickstarter ;).

Looks stunning! Are there any videos of any gameplay coming anytime soon do you know? I’d really like to see how the game plays, im not talking about combat but just walking/running simple stuff :slight_smile:

@PixelHeadHD you can see that on this video, the movement system is still WIP we are working on an intelligent joystick system that will predicate players movement to smooth the controls between camera transitions :).
