You can get chat gpt 3.5 to take on the role of a dungeon master to play a text based game, it will eventually describe your character to you, taking inventory of your character. so if it can list out specific items, such as a bow, compass, or dagger can you then have something mark these items, manually or automatically to then be passed into a conveyer splitter to: 1. create a data set for the item (ie enchanted, broken, etc to make it real) 2. create a tangible item within the players inventory, to which a player can see that it is equiped 3. split the description off to a instance of dall-e or any image generator, to create a image of the item to which the player can see in their inventory?
Generative AI is not really fast enough for runtime gameplay. And unless you can get the chat bot to output an item as JSON or something similar (consistently), you’ll be interpreting just plain text which will be fraught with issues.
Do you have any actual experience making games?
