Q: on unity basic, spash screen and app store rejection

newbie here:

have got unity basic (don’t need pro) but am concerned that with the “made with unity” splash screen my app stands a higher chance of rejection from app store due to Apples IOS4 rules.

Is this the case?

thanks for your help!

There has not been any case of rejection, at least none that I know, in relation to the splash.

there are only rejections from apps / developers that don’t fullfill the requirements

Actually, there is at least one unity basic game that has been accepted under the new TOS.

However, I would also prefer to lose something else with the iPhone Basic licence and have the logo removed for exchange, until unity is fully TOS compliant.

the logo is not reqiured to detect it is unity.
The presence of several for lower level technical things would make it trivial for apple to detect if it is unity for any kind of unity iphone license at the time actually.

so either we are all in or none.

but you don’t get rejected for using unity. only for delivering crap or for targeting stuff not supported any longer like os2 etc

You have absolutely right on Unity being traceable anyway, but there is no reason for unity basic developers to go “aggressively” against the TOS. We don’t comply with it and we know this for sure, at least let’s not have a logo saying “Look at me Apple, I don’t comply with your rules!”.

This way we help Adobe to sue Apple sooner for discrimination policy and make them strictly apply the new TOS as a response, forbidding Mono etc.

We don’t want to make things worse while Plan B is still on words…

It does not go against any ToS to have the technology providers logo in, as such there is no difference.
