Quadro vs Not Quadro

Looking to purchase a class set of high spec laptops.

Question of whether going Quadro or Geforce is something I need a bit of help with. (Lots of other posts, but most seem to be dated before the RTX Quadro and “A” series naming change and I am still scratching my head.

Main Uses: Unity3D, Adobe Suite(Illustrator, After Effects, etc.), Autodesk 3DSMax & Mudbox, Solidworks/Inventor.

Rationale: Depending on the activity is what the program students will use. No large projects will likely be built, however need performant computers to ensure students do not become disengaged while they wait for things to load. Laptop form factor to allow for movement between rooms.

Is there any performance bench marks I can run on the device, that will be able to help out that provide helpful information for the main uses.

tldr; Will the quadro be the best decision for CAD, Unity, AdobeSuite for a performant experience across all?

Quadros usually are a lot slower for the price.
Mostly they have the benefit of error correction memory. The studio/professional drivers are also available for GeForce cards nowadays.

For applications a geforce is absolutely fine. Quadros are more recommended for machine learning machines, movie renders (full movies, not premiere edits), etc where a simulation can run for 20-200 hours where every bit needs to be perfect. This isn’t the case for game development, CAD, maya, whatever.

I’d say get the highest end RTX card with at least 8GB vram. Do try to use the most recent generation (rtx 3000 for now, 4000 series launching early next year probably).

Personally have a laptop with rtx 3060 with ryzen 5800H and it’s perfect for all aspects of game development, except in Unreal Engine 5 with both lumen and nanite running I have issues with the 6GB Vram. 8 would be perfect there as well.
