Question about buying assets and Bolt

Hi, I’m new here. I want to ask a silly question (forgive me): I want to buy Bolt and some assets, but do I have to pay a tax?

I’ve heard in Europe there is some sort of VAT tax, but I’m not from there, so I don’t know what it looks like on the asset store page.

In the U.S.A. there is no tax that I recall. Either way, you’d be able to see the actual total before you commit your purchase.

What about publishing free assets?

There is no fee and no tax on free

You’re right.

Let’s say I would buy Flat Kit: Cel / Toon Shading. The page says €35.73 (or $40.00) for me, but on checkout (because remember: Taxes/VAT are calculated at checkout) it now says 42.52€ (or $47.60) due to a VAT of +€6.79/+$7.60.

You can get rid of it by entering your tax number (if you have one):

Thanks

But are these taxes and VAT monthly? Or you have to pay once?

For paid assets, you purchase only once.

What about Bolt?

Their website says “Buy” so there you go. It doesn’t look like a subscription, but you would want to confirm with them. They do have a free version that you would likely want to start with, and of course there are no taxes on free.

Thank you

  1. Company pays corporate tax for the work that I do
  2. That same profit from my work gets taxed again from my salary
  3. Gets taxed a third time when buying something while the company and the worker making the item that I bought get taxed too, just wow! How did we come to this point in 21st century?

Where does the tax from the assets go? To my country or to the union? Because it is an EU law I believe. Oh well, I hope they use it well. (actually banning memes)
